Artist Biography
Adam Bryant Chittenden pursued
his interests in photography and film at the University of Maine,
Orono where he graduated in 2004 with a BA in New Media.
After graduation, Adam sought additional studies in fine art photography
and printing under the mentorship of
John Paul Caponigro. He has taken two courses at Caponigro
Arts in Cushing, Maine and was a teaching assistant to Caponigro
for Black and White Mastery in October 2006.
Recently, Adam began to push the boundaries of his work by introducing
the dimensions of time and motion. He collaborated with grammy
award winning musician Paul
Sullivan and created two short animated films (December 2006)
for a ‘new media’ show at the Strand Theater in Rockland,
Maine. Paul performed live in concert a musical score
he composed to accompany the projected films (See
Video of Performance). This performance inspired the making
of A Storied Landscape Film Series, and initiated further
collaborations with musicians to explore music and landscapes.
